What Do You Need To Make Hollandaise Sauce In A Blender?

Egg Yolks

The egg yolks act as an emulsifier to bind the sauce together. They also provide a rich and creamy texture to the sauce. It is recommended to use fresh eggs for the best results.

Lemon Juice

The lemon juice adds a tangy and bright flavor to the sauce, and also helps to stabilize the emulsion.

Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor.

Melted Butter

The melted butter will help to give your sauce its smooth and creamy texture.

Salt and Pepper

Salt and pepper are added to taste, enhancing the flavor of the sauce.

It is recommended to use freshly ground black pepper for the best flavor.

How To Make Hollandaise Sauce In A Blender

Hollandaise sauce can be made easily with a blender, with just a few simple steps:

  1. Put the egg yolks, lemon juice, and pepper in the blender and blend until combined.
  2. While the blender is running, gradually pour in the melted butter until the sauce emulsifies. If the sauce is too thick, add a few drops of warm water at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  3. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you’re using unsalted butter, add salt to taste before serving.

When Is It Best To Make A Blended Hollandaise Sauce?

Given that this sauce relies on butter, it’s not advisable to prepare it more than an 1-2 hours ahead of time.

As the temperature drops, the butter solidifies, causing the sauce to become thicker. Reheating may lead to the sauce separating.

Considering the blender technique requires under 5 minutes, it’s best to whip up the Hollandaise sauce just prior to serving.

Hollandaise sauce is a versatile and delicious accompaniment that can enhance a variety of dishes.

Here are some of my favorite options to pair this rich and creamy sauce with:
